Le Club Social de Clare was started back in 1954 by a group of people who were looking for a comfortable place to socialize amongst friends. Le Club Social de Clare is owned 100% by its membership. All Club profits are used to maintain the ongoing operating expenses and finance special projects which the members and the board of directors decide should be part of the Club’s activities.

The sports complex located behind the Club building, which includes two softball fields, barbecue pits, racquetball courts, beach volleyball courts, children’s playground, and picnic area is such a project.

Besides focusing on special projects, the Club also sponsors weekly activities such as pool tournaments, bridge nights, cribbage tournaments as well as weekend dances and special events.

The Club Social de Clare has actually three full time employees which comprise of two bartenders and one manager. The Club also has approximately ten part-time workers.
